Join us for a special celebration of our ancestors.
Our evening will begin in sacred circle with community altar and welcoming in our loving ancestors. We will then enjoy cacao service by Kathryn Rogers and heart songs by Nazdira Cuevas.
Jamie Shadowlight will lead a violin sound journey through all time and space, and Misty Tomasino will follow with drumming and the invitation to dance with your ancestors and the next seven generations.
We will close with gratitude and completion of the circle.
Please stay for our Community PotLuck afterwards (bring an ancestral dish/recipe if you would like to share).
Items to Bring to Honor Your Ancestors:
Any photos or special objects that represent your ancestors to place on the altar (these will go back home with you after the event)
We will have a potluck after the event; please bring an ancestral dish to share if you would like.
Community Altar
In addition to Honoring our Ancestors celebration, our Community Altar opens on Tuesday, October 26th at 7 p.m. on the patio behind our Collective. Feel free to bring any offerings to honor your ancestors and loved ones that you would like to contribute at any time throughout the week. This is a co-creative community ritual. Note that the altar will be outside at times unattended, so keep this in mind when choosing your offerings. Any items remaining on the altar on November 2nd will be lovingly returned to the earth.
About Your Event Hosts:
Jamie Shadowlight explores and expands the context of the violin in imaginative ways, creating live experiences that activate the spirit within. Over the years, she has gained recognition around the world as an artist of quality and soul. Her eclectic and widely diverse range of sound using a variety of pedals and violins has opened the door to crossing musical borders into many different genres. Shadowlight is an artist that creates in flow, a place where discipline meets surrender in the new moment, also called Stream of Consciousness creation.
Misty Tomasino (aka "Mystic Rhythms") is a multi-instrumentalist who shares her musical talent as an offering to the Divine, to the Earth, to the Human Heart, and Beyond. Misty's intention is to create space for deep healing, peace, calm & ecstatic joy. Music is her soul's expression, she sees it as medicine and finds so much fulfillment in sharing her gifts. She combines an array of musical influences into one authentic expression - creating a mystical & heart-connecting experience. Nazdira Cuevas is an herbalist and loving steward of the earth trained in the Wise Woman Tradition. She also specializes in yoga practice for children, families and special needs. You can find her lovingly crafted natural remedies including herbal infusions, tinctures and more at Maya Moon Collective and throughout the local community.
Kathryn Rogers is an earth guardian and founder/owner of Maya Moon. She has facilitated hundreds of cacao circles around the world and has had the joy and privilege of sitting in meditation with the sacred plant medicine of cacao for more than a decade. As a trained shamanic practitioner and ThetaHealing guide, she infuses her rituals with reverence for all life, Mother Earth and the divine beauty and wisdom that resides within each of our hearts.
