About Artist - Douglas Burr: An acupuncturist and holistic medicine practitioner, Douglas has a love for the creative process and healing found in the natural world. Painting has become the perfect creative outlet to see nature in its full glory and expand my creative process to the healing of self and others.

I have always loved the contrast of light and shadow. As a boy I was especially drawn to the thickness and textures of oil paint.

Now I am drawn to and have found a special fondness for deep reflection.

 Not just reflection through water and light but also reflection of the past. 

A place to find a bit of drama!

I see the Dream State as a reflection of past memories or even past lives.

A most recent  past life memory brought me back to a life working and thriving in the forests of South East Asia.

A simple life where the most important event of the day was to be a witness to the rising of the Sun!

These are memories of Dreams. The changing of color and the shifting of contrast.
